Updated: Coronavirus Test Centers In Central Jersey

Five counties continue to offer tests for coronavirus to residents, health-care workers and first responders at state-sponsored sites.

UPDATE: On April 22, the state noted that NJ residents could get COVID-19 tests in Bergen and Monmouth counties even if they are not showing symptoms.

“There is no longer a requirement that persons must be symptomatic prior to testing (at those sites),” the New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services announced on Wednesday. The change is “effective today and until further notice," the state said.

Community-Based Testing Sites are for individuals who are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. To be eligible for testing, individuals must be current New Jersey residents and experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Priority will be given to symptomatic individuals experiencing cough, fever (99.6F or above) and shortness of breath.

Details are listed below:

  • At the PNC Bank Arts Center, there is a drive-thru center at 116 Garden State Parkway in Holmdel (Monmouth County), tests will be offered starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday April 22, Monday April 27 and Wednesday April 29. On Saturday, April 25, testing will be offered in Holmdel for health-care workers and first responders only, starting at 8 a.m.
  • At the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center, drive-thru tests are offered to county residents by appointment.Tests are taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Residents must call 609-726-7097 to make an appointment for tests at 695 Woodlane Road in Westhampton.
  • Ocean County residents can get tested at Ocean County College's drive-thru site in Toms River. This center requires a physician's prescription for a test and online registration by clicking here.
  • Mercer County residents can be tested at a drive-thru center at Quakerbridge Mall, 3320 Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. The site is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. Physician's prescriptions with the patient's home address should be faxed to 609-630-4031.
  • The Kilmer Inspection Center at 33 Kilmer Road in Edison is offering tests for Middlesex County residents. To receive testing in Edison, you must make an appointment online or via phone, as well as either have a valid doctor's prescription or be exhibiting symptoms which include: fever 100.4 degrees or higher (99.6 degrees for people 65 years and older); respiratory symptoms; and/or shortness of breath. Click here to schedule an appointment.
